HCO is the result of the collaboration of several groups interested in the classification of Heme Copper Oxidases. Its aims are to provide classification of HCO for all currently available genomes and also an automated classification tool to allow the user to input sequences to be classified.

If HCO is useful in your research, please cite the following reference, as citations are the best way for us to keep track of how useful this resource is to the community.

HCO was created as the result of a multi institutional collaboration, within the Laboratório Associado de Oeiras, involving the following research groups:

Manuela M. Pereira
Metalloproteins and Bioenergetics Laboratory
Instituto de Tecnologia Quimica e Biológica, Portugal
José B. Pereira-Leal
Computational Genomics Laboratory
Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciencia, Portugal

HCO was supported by FCT via grants PTPC/BIA-PRO/103310/2008 and PTPC/Qui/66559/2006
