Application to a Research Fellowship Position

Project PTDC/BIABCM/73195/2006

The application to a Research Fellowship is open under the Project PTDC/BIABCM/

73195/2006, called “ Regulation Of Centriole Biogenesis And Function: An

Integrative Approach” financed by Fundação para a Ciência e a

Tecnologia.

 

Duration:

The Fellowship will have the duration of 12 months, with the first 3 months constituting a

trial period, starting on July, in exclusiveness regime, as regulated by the human resources of FCT

(http://www.fct.mctes.pt/pt/apoios/formacao/ambitoprojectos) and fellowships regulation of Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (http://www.igc.gulbenkian.pt).

Subject of Activities:

1. Expansion of a data integration platform for the study of the cell biollogy of centrioles

(www.centrioledb.org). This database integrates molecular and microscopy data.

2. Collaboration in the evolutionary/bioinformatics analysis of centriolar components.

Scientific Orientation:

Computational Genomics Lab – José Pereira-Leal

Cell Cycle Regulation Lab -  Mónica Bettencourt-Dias

Selecting Criteria: MSc. Degree in Life Sciences or in Computer Science with experience in the other. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience/training in Bioinformatics

Month Stipend:

According the regulations of the FCT Scientific Fellowships in Portugal (€980.00/month).
